4 Months out serving!

Gilbert Az. Temple

IT"S A CACTUS SWORD!!!!! really it's aloe vera, BUT LOOK!!!! IT"S SO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL

What the weird is geocaching? It's sounds cool. BUT I GOT TO GO TO THE GILBERT TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE!! We were asked last minute by an inactive sister in the ward who need someone to push her wheelchair through the tour. That was probably the best of this week. I love the feeling there. Like it doesn't feel like the temple does, but there's a better feeling there than the rest of the world. It's like this distinct sense of "I'm almost a temple." Me gusta. But yeah that was totally for my 4 month birthday(: We also did exchanges two days in a row! I took a sister to my area on Tuesday and that was really cool to show her some stuff and to be in charge of making the plans. Then I went out with her companion to her area.  Going there for a day was cool too to let someone else be in charge and take me around. But it was glorious to be reunited with my companion. We missed each other! lol I love her!

I'm really trying to find time and find something to say about cool things so I can make blog pieces, but I'm still working on my talent with words and whatnot. But it's okay I've come to realize. I have the ability to be bold and when it's needed it will happen, but I know my personality and my ability to keep my mouth shut is also an amazing talent. And it's one of my main purposes in life, to be the one who loves and is patient. I like to think about when Christ was taken to be judged and the accusers came and yelled lies and all sorts of things, "and Jesus held his peace." No one was going to listen anyway, and it was part of Heavenly Father's plan, even though he has all of the capacity to strike them down and tell them they were wrong...because they were!

Today is a good day. We ended up getting a referral and are so excited to meet him tonight!! And 3 investigators were at church yesterday! And I prayed to be happy and move on from a problem we experienced so I'm happy and feel a lot better about all of this. Not taking insults personally but learning to work with the ways of the world unfortunately a little.

Everything is going well! I am liking missionary life and I'm glad you told everyone about it and your experiences there at home lol I''m alovin the Book of Mormon! I read like crazy and understand so much better and can't wait to finish...so I can start again! I still get to run a lot

OMG!!! President Smith told us he saw the blog  Yesterday he's like "Oh well, now I'll always be looking for your pink!" But the picture isn't even of me wearing pink!! I'll have to find a different one for you to make the main photo
Pretty in Pink

We're making a video with our district today. We have the best district ever! My last area had the best zone in the world, but this transfer we have an amazing district and we're all pretty close. It's a relief society district, and we're getting t shirts. I made the logo for it.

January 20, 2014

I had a whole day with a British sister this week, sister Maynard, and it was really fun(: but she says she doesn't watch any of the British shows I watch, she watches American shows that I never watch, and she taught me some British words. Did Daddy serve in Leeds,  that is where she lives. It was fabulous being senior companion. Just for a day to test it out, but it was a good day getting to be the one who had the stuff planned out and deciding to go to work and do what we're supposed to, and sitting in a lesson, actually being in control of the lesson, and seeing how I can help make the teaching unified.
We also had interviews with President and Sister Jenkins this week.It was just nice in general to meet with him because he's a great guy. They inspected our car, so we had to wax Riley. For a day though we had to drive around with half of the car buffed because our vehicle director wanted to do an experiment with the amount of time you leave the wax on to see if it made it work better the longer it stay. We were his guinea pigs. It was weird....
BUT (...if you buy four complatos) we got to go the the templllleeee!!! Squeee<3.I Iike the temple. And we saw the new new video! It's really, just grand. I love parts of this one better and parts of the old new one too. But just being in the celestial room and everything is my favorite. I wish we went every week!
But we get to go to the open house soon! Two days in a row!!:D the 4th and 5th, first with Devin and his mom and then with a group of 50 nonmembers from a ward member's work. Idk why we aren't hosting anymore, the big cahoonas in charge just decided they had enough people doing it already. Tis ok!

So had stake conference this weekend!! Oh my goodness it was the coolest one I've ever been to! They had people from the congregation stand up and answer questions (of course Devin, gets up and says the most profound statement a 17 year old,  not to mention convert of 3 weeks, can say, and challenges everyone to do their missionary work more) and showed clips of Elder Holland speaking, had us sing Lead Kindly Light. and made a video of us missionaries in an interview so people in the stake can know us personally and pray for us by name and trust us and work with us because NOW is the time to step up our game and not sit around waiting for other people to do the work, we have to carry the yoke equally to get this gospel spread forth! It was fun, Sundays session was good too, about the youth and an investigator spoke and it was all just really powerful. I think things are going to step up, and we're going to really try and have members out with us every single day, even if it's just going out knocking on doors of potentials and former and less actives.  Some members are just fabulous. Some lady after stake conference came out to our ward mission leader, and asked how old Devin was. When she found out that he was 17 she offered to pay for his mission, because she got a distinct impression that she needed to help someone with that. He's been really concerned about paying for a mission but he's pretty much going to be the best missionary in the whole world and really has to go. We found this out and about died!? Seriously, we've been talking with him about this multiple times trying to convince him not to worry about the payment, that it will all work out because of his righteous desire. He's the best. Oh man, we loooove Devin.

So yeah.....I hope I'm not forgetting anything too important from the week. I loooove youuuu!
Got to play with this little girl today and a Westie! Best day ever!

Tell it with pictures!

We had a Pday party! Watched Ephraim's Rescue and ate foods and played missionary version of Mafia
My Companion is so cute!

CITRUS!!! There's so much dang citrus is these parts.

Picking citrus. It was actually from a service project. Do you know about tangelos??? They're like...oranges, and tangerines...the taste like both but not good.

Look....it's the father of all grapefruit. Grapefruit reeks btw.

We played with activity day girls! they're not too scary

We played with ooblek!

It's a rooster!!! IT'S WEIRD!! It has rubber attached to it's head! This was at a part member family's home. The 9 year old is ready for lessons. I asked him if he wanted to get baptized and he said "Actually, no...what I really want to do is raise a falcon."

1st Monday of 2014

I HATE YOU I WANT DOWNTON SO BAD. Jk I only love you. And geez, I saw "doctor" and can only think of The Doctor. and then Sherlock........and Sammy and Dean. oh man I'm stugglin. Ok, it isn't that bad. It's not like I have time, but if I do I get to watch other awesome stuff like Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration, or Finding faith in Christ and the testaments and junk. ANYWAY...this was indeed a good and calm week!

We Day-trained a brand new missionary, so we were the first experience of Mesa for her and she was the best, we brought her to her transfer meeting where we found out WE GET TO GO THE THE GILBERT OPEN HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!! Squeeee! We've been waiting to find out for a month or something and that feels like a year! So we finally get to tell people "yes! Even though it's out of our mission, we're allowed to go!" AND GUESS WHO WILL GET TO HOST THE DANG EVENT! That's right!!!! THE SISTERS!! dghawe;ogihadr;gjkn! Right then it hit me really hard how great my mission really is. We're so spoiled in Mesa. Not in temporal stuff only, but in trust to do all sorts of amazing things no one else can experience. Not only am I getting to be involved with changing people's lives by giving them the Gospel and providing the feeling of the Spirit, but we get to make the internet usable for the Lord's purposes like it was meant to be, not for all the rubbish Satan turned it into! We get to spend time at the Temple Christmas lights, and be involved with a huge open house and bring people there where they can learn about temples with us, and Elder Holland is coming to speak to us, and then I get to see and probably host the Easter Pageant really soon.

And we get parties too! We had a New Year's party that lasted all day and it's just fun to be with 225 missionaries. Just standing around and you realize you're in a crowd of temple endowed saints focused on God's work. And you have a really cool mission president who will climb into a sheet and let a zone of missionaries toss him into the freakin air! That was meant for a volley-ball, I don't know how they got this person in there. But IT WAS CRAZY! I totally didn't see it coming....he's cool. And so is his wife. But not in the same way. She isn't to be tossed to and fro....she's delecate and sweet. We all adore this woman! But the party had a bunch of other games and whatnot, like Do you love your neighbor and human foozball, and we performed skits as zones. They were brand new zones too because transfers were the same day, but my group-Sol Canyon- had the story of .......Shadrack, Meeshak, and Abednigo......or whatever their names are. I was an angel that set them forth out of those fire furnace flames. Ummmm and there was a mini talent show ( OH SPEAKING Of which, I really want to set up a talent show of something for our stake here...we need retention and activation activities! ....and do a BoM Marathon with the youth! Youth are my favorite always) and we had like 4 versions of the Hakka. Then this hick Elder from Mississippi came up for story time.It was probably the most hilarious thing I've heard....I can't tell it right. But.....I laughed.

But yeah....I realized it's not that I have to BE a missionary cause God asked me to, He asked me to because He wanted to bless me and I GET to be a missionary. We are seeing an investigator for the second time tonight.... We are bringing a member with us and have set up stuff with other members to come out with us a lot...because it's the Lord's way! So this way we can get more fishes than our boat can handle! .....the end. I love you!!!!
hahahah FINGERS DON'T FIN
